WHY BECOMING A CERTIFIED BUDOKON® YOGA TEACHER IS RIGHT FOR YOU

  • Because in an industry overflowing with certified yoga teachers you like to stand apart from the crowd in skill, knowledge and character.
  • Because you are unique and you desire to leave behind a legacy as a human being and as a teacher.
  • Because Yoga is steadily evolving in the direction of integration, and so are you.

I can't put into words what a wonderful experience the last weekend was.  Prior to this weekends yoga training, I didn't even know I needed life coaching - but now I see the tremendous value. The Budokon Yoga system is wonderful. Beyond the system, there's the community - such good people. Good people are attracted to the system. The system makes good people better. The interaction between the system and the community produces a snowball effect. My heart say "You have to teach Budokon." Teaching Budokon is the only way to build up that spiritual community in proximity to my physical community. I've had a conversation with my wife about my experience and my dream. She supports me fully.

OUR 30HOUR YOGA TT COURSE OVERVIEW

The Budokon®Yoga 30hr Certification (BYC-30) program is a 30-hour / 3-day intensive course offered to any inspired person looking to deepen their understanding of the Budokon Yoga primary series and to qualified international and US based 200hr Yoga teachers who can add on to their current Yoga teacher certification. The BYC 30hr course is taught exclusively by the founder and director of the Budokon®University, Kancho Cameron Shayne. After a final exam and graduation from this 3-day course you will be certified to teach the Budokon®Yoga Primary series.

ABOUT THE COURSE

A.) ASPIRING TEACHERS - Any person who has graduated a quality Yoga teacher training course (of at least 200 hours or more) and has the desire to add Budokon®Yoga classes to their offering as a teacher.

B.) INSPIRED STUDENTS - Any inspired Yoga or Martial Arts practioner who wants to deepen or improve their Yoga practice. This course will not result in a certification for an uncertified/unqualified Yoga practioner and is NOT a substitute for a 200 hour Yoga teacher training program. If you would like to become a Yoga teacher please see the Budokon®Yoga 200hr program.  NOTE: It is the opinion of Budokon®University that no person can be properly trained to teach Yoga in 30 hours.

COST: Tuition varies based on geographical location and currency. The US course fee is $499 - housing and meals are not included, however we are usually successful at hosting out of town students. *Payment plans are available upon request for select applicants. Please write to info@budokon.com

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Students are required to have a 200hr Yoga certification with a reference from a teacher or training organization. Students must register first to be accepted into the Budokon®Yoga 30hr program. Once your registration is received you will be contacted. NOTE: Students must have taken an anatomy and physiology course within their previous yoga TT program.

EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS

30-60 days from the final day of the Budokon®Yoga 30hr program each teacher is required to submit a video demonstrating the full Budokon®Yoga Primary Series for review. This video will be evaluated for overall performance. If Kancho Cameron Shayne determines that the teacherʼs skill level is not proficient in all areas the teacher will be required to resubmit a second video with all the corrections from Kancho Cameron Shayne to receive their Budokon®Yoga 30hr certification. If it is determined that the teacher is still below the required skill level Kancho Cameron Shayne reserves the right to refund the teacherʼs TUITION money and/or require the course be taken again at no extra charge until a level of proficiency is reached.

In addition to the video submission, the teacher must read and write an essay on the book - Dance of the Lion and Unicorn by Dr. Mark Waller.

THE BUDOKON®YOGA CURRICULUM

The Budokon 30hr Yoga curriculum is influenced by intelligent alignment principles, the freedom of creative sequencing cultivated in Vinyasa Yoga and the circular nature of Martial Arts. The Budokon Yoga system can be summed up in one sentence: Budokon Yoga is the art of seamless transition coupled with the beauty of circular rotation. Within the hatha Yoga practice we explore the living arts curriculum. This body of work is focused on areas outside of physical movement such as communication, emotions, environment and nutrition. In this part of the curriculum we look deeply at the experiences that form our beliefs and the beliefs that form our actions. We explore why we say what we say and do what we do. Each student shares personal stories and participates in a therapeutic group environment. This builds a sense of camaraderie in the students as they learn that they are not alone in their pain and can learn from the pain of others.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHERE CAN I TEACH BUDOKON®YOGA?

The Budokon®Yoga certification is recognized through out the world in prestigious health & fitness clubs, Yoga and Martial arts studios.

WHAT IF I REQUIRE FINANCIAL AID?

If you are interested in attending Budokon University and require financial aid you may apply. We are very flexible with payment options and always willing to assist students with financing. To further assist with tuition costs, any student requesting housing in any of our training locations can usually be hosted by a local student for free. Please send inquiries to info@budokon.com

IS BUDOKON ASSOCIATED WITH YOGA ALLIANCE®?

No. Kancho Cameron Shayne has been teaching hatha yoga for 15 years which predates the creation of Yoga Alliance® in 1999. Kancho Cameron formed the Budokon®Yoga teacher training program in 2000 in order to train and certify highly qualified Yoga, Martial Arts, and Life Coaches. Budokon University standards far exceed those of Yoga Alliance® and therefore are not compatible. Many registry organizations prey on the inexperience of new yoga teachers who are misinformed and believe that they must be registered with such organization to be a qualified yoga teacher. This is not true. After graduation from our program you will be qualified, certified, and registered through Budokon®University. Your BUDOKON®YOGA 200hr certification will be recognized as meeting and excelling above Yoga industry standards.

DO YOU HAVE TO BE REGISTERED WITH YOGA ALLIANCE® TO TEACH YOGA?

No. Today there are several agencies that offer yoga accreditation internationally such as: British Wheel of Yoga (BWY), and the International Yoga Federation (IYF). All of these organizations (including Yoga Aliance®) are independent privately held corporations that are not backed by any one unifying governmental authority. Over the past 12 years Budokon International has witnessed many accreditation businesses open and close their doors, and that is why we are proud of our long standing reputation as a qualified Yoga certification body that is recognized worldwide.
