For one simple reason: The Budokon®Yoga style recognizes tradition while innovating and leading the way for what is possible. We recognize that Yoga does not look the same as it did 5000 years ago or even 5 years ago, therefore, we continue to press the boundaries of creativity while maintaining the crucial therapeutic application of asana. Kancho Cameron Shayne has been a pioneer in the field of therapeutic movement through yoga and martial arts from the beginning his personal practice in 1983. Budokon®Yoga is the culmination of 30 years of research, development, and practical application. SImply put, Budokon®Yoga heals, strengthens, and changes lives.
Learn to teach the future of Yoga with the the BUDOKON®YOGA Primary Series. Budokon's undeniable contribution to contemporary Yoga is marked by the creation of techniques and asana that are rapidly becoming staples in the modern Yoga vernacular such as ROLLING WAVE, FLOATING PLANK, DANCING DOG, FALLING WARRIOR, FLYING WARRIOR, and WARRIORS BRIDGE.
The BUDOKON®YOGA style is best described as a transition based Yoga flow with continuous circular rotation. This Yoga style honors its traditional roots of Hatha (asana based) Yoga while bringing a completely unique Martial Arts circular influence. This flow was created and is taught by Hatha Yoga Master and Martial Arts Grandmaster Kancho Cameron Shayne. To apply for this training please contact us at info@budokon.com

IS BUDOKON ASSOCIATED WITH YOGA ALLIANCE®?
No. Kancho Cameron Shayne has been teaching hatha yoga for 15 years which predates the creation of Yoga Alliance® in 1999. Kancho Cameron formed the Budokon®Yoga teacher training program in 2000 in order to train and certify highly qualified Yoga, Martial Arts, and Life Coaches. Budokon University standards far exceed those of Yoga Alliance® and therefore are not compatible. Many registry organizations prey on the inexperience of new yoga teachers who are misinformed and believe that they must be registered with such organizations to be a qualified yoga teacher. This is not true. After graduation from our program you will be qualified, certified, and registered through Budokon®University. Your BUDOKON®YOGA 200hr certification will be recognized as meeting and excelling above Yoga industry standards.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE REGISTERED WITH YOGA ALLIANCE® TO TEACH YOGA?
No. Today there are several agencies that offer yoga accreditation internationally such as: British Wheel of Yoga (BWY), and the International Yoga Federation (IYF). All of these organizations (including YA®) are independent privately held corporations that are not backed by any one unifying governmental authority. Over the past 12 years Budokon International has witnessed many accreditation businesses open and close thier doors, and that is why we are proud of our long standing reputation as a qualified Yoga certification body that is recognized worldwide.

This Budokon®Yoga technique "Warriros Bridge", was created by Kancho Cameron Shayne in 2001 and has quickly become a commonly practiced asana in the modern yoga venacular. Yoga styles such as Anusara yoga and Shiva Ray's prana flow have adopted this posutre mofiying it for their own styles. This technique is a variation of a martial arts technique used in Jiu Jitsu to bridge and escape from under another person. The martial arts influences that persist throughout the Budokon®Yoga primary series gives this authentic yoga style a circular and graceful nature.

This Budokon®Yoga technique "Rolling Wave" was created by Kancho Cameron Shayne in 2002 and has quickly become a commonly practiced asana in the modern yoga vernacular. After recognizing the relevance of spinal rolling as a therapeutic application to spinal and shoulder girdle disfunction Kancho Cameron designed Rolling Wave. This unique and ground breaking yogic transition from down dog to up-dog by rolling through the spine rather than transitioning with a flat back challenged the established yoga teaching of transition. This won Kancho Cameron and Budokon international praise for reinterpreting and pioneering new yogic methodology for therapy.
